The Man in the Brown Coat: stories of Merlin and Arthur with Simon Heywood

It's said that Merlin cheated death, yet life and love betrayed him.

He ended his life's work locked in a cave forever, at the hands of the only mortal he ever loved.

But how did it happen, and why?

Driven by a vision of a kingdom of peace and harmony in a world of war and bloodshed, Merlin serves kings… only to make kings his servants.

But the treasons of the times draw his footsteps towards a glimpse of human love, and the dark mouth of a room without a door...

This Saturday show is part of our Merlin weekend, three days of hearing and discussing the ancient tales of the Arthurian landscape. You are very welcome to come to this evening on its own if you cannot join us for the whole weekend.

The event will be held through the medium of English. This storytelling evening is aimed at adults but young people 11+ are welcome to join.

Mewn byd o ryfel a gwaed, mae gan Fyrddin weledigaeth o deyrnas o heddwch a chytgord. Mae o’n gwasanaethu brenhinoedd… ond yn troi’r brenhinoedd yn weision.

Ond mae cyfnodau peryglus yn ei arwain at gipolwg ar gariad dynol, ac at adwy dywyll i ystafell heb ddrws...
