An evening in the company of those who sailed with Major Bill Tilman

Major Bill Tilman was a celebrated Himalayan climber and war hero. He later turned to sailing and acted as the president of the Barmouth RNLI.
Come and spend an evening in the company of those who sailed with Major Bill Tilman from the 1950s through to the 1970s. Hear what it was like to sail in the heroic era of expedition travel in which Tilman achieved many notable objectives, governed by the precept that "any worthwhile expedition can be planned on the back of an envelope".
There will be a photographic display and a bookstall with copies of Tilman's books, and also a static display of clothing and climbing equipment used when Tilman explored the Himalaya's.
Refreshments available.
